Blog on a news article

The article that I am doing my blog on is about a U.S. Army Sniper, named Evan Vela, convicted of killing an unarmed, iraqi civilian. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Vela was also sentenced to not get any type of allowance or pay from the military, and he will receive a dishonorable discharge from the military (which is the worst possible thing that you could ever get in the military because it will make you look like a really bad guy in society and it will be very hard to be able to find a good job, for example). During the trial, the defendant’s two lawyers tried to convince everyone that it was just a mistake for killing the unarmed, iraqi civilian, brought on by extreme exhaustion and lack of sleep. Even so, it wasn’t a really good argument and Vela was founded guilty. After he confessed that he killed the iraqi, the two lawyers he had gave him a “light hug” and he was escorted out of his room without showing any type of emotion whatsoever. After he went into a military court in Baghdad, he went into court in his hometown. There he showed a lot of emotion by crying on the witness stand. He was also found guilty there too. Now, he is facing a 10 year sentence in prison.
