Blog Assignment

I want to graduate from college so I can get myself a really good paying job so I am able to support a family and be able to do a lot of other things with my life. Right now college is a little bit hard and I am not sure if I am going to be able to continue my college experience next year because of money issues. Hopefully things will turn out the way that I want them to. I think that graduating from college is something very important and everyone needs to do it because when you graduate from college, a lot of doorways will open for you and you will be able to do many things with your life. This is what I argue about for myself and for other people because I really feel strongly about this and also because of looking at all of the facts, college can make a really big difference in your life. How else do you think people become doctors, lawyer, engineers, etc.? They want go to college and they “bust their behinds” in order to become something better in life. To me, if you don’t go to college and try to make a difference in this world, you can still get regular jobs, but a lot of them wouldn’t be as good if you got a job with a college degree. This is why I want to graduate from college. I also want to know what anybody thinks of this, or if they have stronger arguement related to this topic.

blog on Shattered Glass

This blog is going to be on the movie “Shattered Glass.” This movie was about a person named Stephen Glass and his career. This movie starts out by Glass talking to a class that one of his old teachers from years ago was teaching. He was talking about his career, which is journalism, to the class. He first talks about how his life has been going for him and he talks about a couple of articles that he has written. Then he talks about one article that starts to ruin his career. That’s about how far we got into the movie. At the beginning of the movie, Glass is a pretty respectable guy and everybody seems to get along with him really well. He is a little bit weird and not really the sociable type. When he is telling the story of the hacker, he seems like he is trying to be the “life of the party.” At the beginning of the movie, Stephen does not seem like the type of person who you wouldn’t want to hang around with at the beginning of the movie because he comes off as a nerdy and weird type of person. The biggest ethical issue that Stephen faces is the decision to write an article without having all of the right facts in it. I think that he was wrong because you can’t write an article to publish without having all of the right facts, down to last minor detail, to put into your article. This is a little bit about Shattered Glass since our class didn’t get to finish seeing the movie.

What I am doing my essay on

I am doing my ethical essay on the movie Bruce Almighty. This movie is about a guy named Bruce Nolan who was living a regular life at first. Things started to go wrong for him so he wanted the powers of God so he could do anything that he wanted to do. He then got his wish of becoming like a God. Things then started to go really well for him and he was starting to enjoy his life again. Then everything started to backfire on him. He started to lose his girlfriend and he started to cause a big ruckus for the town he was living in because he used his powers in the wrong way. Afterwards, he didn’t want his powers anymore so God took them away from him. Then he was able to fix his life and he was living a good life again. Even though this movie was very entertaining, it still raised a lot of ethical issues. For one thing, you can never have the powers of God, and you can also never use any type of magical powers to solve all of your problems. You just have to use your head and try to fix messes that you cause. Also, for religious purposes and races, it is an ethical issue that they made that movie with a black God. God isn’t black to everybody. These are just a couple of examples of the ethical issues that were raised in this movie and this is why I chose this movie to be my topic for my ethical essay.

Blog of my choice #5

In this blog, I am going to write about how my essay went from start to finish. The first thing that I had to do for my essay was to write a 500 word draft or outline. I chose to do a regular draft because it is easier for me. The first draft went pretty well for me because I got a perfect score because I completed that draft. With my first draft, I was told that I had a lot of work to do with my essay because it was completely different than what I had to write about in order to get a good grade on the final draft. My second draft, which had to be as long as the final draft would be, went pretty well as well. I thought that I had made the corrections that needed to be corrected on this draft, but according to my teacher in the conference I had to go to, I did the essay completely wrong again. It turns out that instead of doing an argument about two articles on the same topic, I did an argument on two different topics. This was not that good at all because I had to rewrite my essay all over again and I only had a week to do it instead of a couple of weeks. At least I was able to write my essay the right way on the second draft than on the first draft. After reading two articles on obesity, which was what I did my rhetorical essay on, I was able to write another essay. Hopefully I did really well on this essay, but who knows.

In this blog, I am going to talk about how my Valentine’s Day went yesterday. Well, it turns out that I have had a really good Valentine’s Day. For Valentine’s Day, I went ahead and got a lot of my closest friends some gifts to show them that they mean something to me. I went ahead and got them the little candies that are especially made for Valentine’s Day. They are the ones that say stuff like “hug me”, “kiss me”, etc. I also got them little Valentine’s Day cards that have spiderman on them. That was what I did for a lot of my closest friends. I went ahead and did something particularly special for someone that I really like a lot. I went and got that person a cookie cake from that cookie place in the mall (I forgot the name of it) and I also got her a feather rose from the Hallmark card store. As soon as I gave it to her, she fell in love with it and she even took pictures of it and put it on her facebook and her myspace. Every girl that saw that kept saying “Awwwww”. Then later on that night me and that person as well as one of my other friends went out for the night. We went and tried to find something to eat, but the problem was that it was a little bit hard to find a place after 10 0′clock because a lot of the restaurants around here close at 10. So we just ended up going to Chile’s to eat and there were so many people there. Afterwards, we went out to a bar/club called the “Hip Hop Soda Shop”. It wasn’t the best place to go because a lot of the people there were just sitting around and talking. Even though there was music playing, it just wasn’t that much fun. So after that, we just came back to the campus and said our goodnights and that was the end of that night. My Valentine’s Day went really well.

Blog on a news article

The article that I am doing my blog on is about a U.S. Army Sniper, named Evan Vela, convicted of killing an unarmed, iraqi civilian. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Vela was also sentenced to not get any type of allowance or pay from the military, and he will receive a dishonorable discharge from the military (which is the worst possible thing that you could ever get in the military because it will make you look like a really bad guy in society and it will be very hard to be able to find a good job, for example). During the trial, the defendant’s two lawyers tried to convince everyone that it was just a mistake for killing the unarmed, iraqi civilian, brought on by extreme exhaustion and lack of sleep. Even so, it wasn’t a really good argument and Vela was founded guilty. After he confessed that he killed the iraqi, the two lawyers he had gave him a “light hug” and he was escorted out of his room without showing any type of emotion whatsoever. After he went into a military court in Baghdad, he went into court in his hometown. There he showed a lot of emotion by crying on the witness stand. He was also found guilty there too. Now, he is facing a 10 year sentence in prison.

blog of my choice #3

What I am going to do my blog on is how this past week went for me. This week was a little bit stressful because of all the tests and work that had to be done. The first thing that had to be done was my second draft for my english class. I had to do a 1000 word essay on a rhetorical argument on two articles that I could pick from 4 different chapters. That was the first thing that had to be done this week. The second thing that I needed to worry about was my Intro to American Studies test that I had to take the same day. The test itself was pretty hard because it was all short answer questions that took about “7 1/2″ minutes to answer each question. I guess it was a little bit hard for me because I didn’t study as much as I could have studied. Right now, I still don’t know what type of grade that I got for this test. The last thing that I had to worry about this past week was that I had another test to do. It was a chemistry test that I to do on Wednesday. I studied so much for that test, especially that day. The day of the test, I spent about 6 1/2 hours inside the Marshall Center just studying for that test. That test wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I ended up getting a 75% on that test. I would have gotten an 80% on that test, but I got the units mixed up on one of the questions and that cost me my 80%. That was what happened this past week.

The topic that I am going to be talking about is my tests that are coming up for my classes. Everybody knows that in college, tests usually come up around the same time for most people. Well, now that is applying to me. I have three tests coming up this week and next week. The first test that I have coming up is my Introduction to Sociology class. It is about a bunch of slides that we went over. The test is multiple choice that are worth 80 points total with 4 short answer questions that are worth the remaining 20 points of our test. The next test that I have coming up is my General Chemistry II test. That one is probably going to be a little bit difficult because the material that we are learning is a little bit hard and the chemistry tests are always hard so this is the test that I am most worried about. This test is going to be 20 multiple choice questions on scantron. We only have about 50 minutes to do, so the time is really going to be something else. The last test that I have coming up is my Introduction to American Studies class. That test is going to be all short answer questions that is going to take about “7 1/2″ minutes to answer each question. That one is the least of my worries out of all of the tests. So those are my tests that I have coming up this week. I hope I do really well on all of these tests.

The discussion on giving homeless people money

On Tuesday, we had a class discussion on if we would give people that are homeless any money for them to help support themselves. We broke into four different groups and talked about this. The group that I was in was arguing that we would definitely give homeless people money. We argued that it would make us feel better about ourselves if we did give money to the homeless people. Also, giving homeless people one dollar or a couple of bucks wouldn’t really make much of a difference and it could at least give them something to eat. We were arguing this because we were supposed to be arguing what was given to us. Honestly, if it were up to me, I wouldn’t really stop in the middle of the road and give homeless people any money for a couple of reasons. One of my reasons is that anybody can a part time job. For example, 7-11 hires anybody for a little bit of cash. People can just go into 7-11 and ask the manager if they can work for a little bit of cash. That is one reason why I wouldn’t give a random homeless person any money. Another reason I wouldn’t stop and give a homeless person any money is because there are a lot of organizations and shelters that are up to help out the homeless people give them food and a place to stay. Eventually, to me, if they live in these shelters and they go out and get a job like one at 7-11. I would give money to organizations that help the homeless people. These are just my opinions on giving homeless people money or not.
